BSC (PHYSIO), APAM
I am honoured to be the owner and practice principal of A Fine Balance Physiotherapy. Having opened from scratch ten years ago, it’s been an exciting journey and I am proud of what we have created with the team approach that we take to our patients’ care.
Since my first taste of Physiotherapy doing work experience in year 10, physiotherapy has always seemed like the perfect fit. I loved the opportunity that physiotherapists interact with their patients and have such a positive impact. I decided then, during work experience, that I wanted to be a physio and I have never looked back. My love of sports and fitness is something that is easily integrated into physiotherapy and there are always new things to learn.
I grew up in the small coastal town of Pambula in southern New South Wales. Since I was young I have always played any sport I possibly could, and as a result I spent a fair amount of time at the physio. This gave me a great taste of the benefit that physiotherapists can provide to people in pain and led to me studying my Physiotherapy degree at Charles Sturt University which I completed with honours.
Having grown up in country Western Australia, I have always loved the outdoors. My love of travel saw me living in London for four years and then Sydney for five years.
During this time my passion for helping people led to a career in Personal Training. It became apparent that simply knowing how to help people “become fit” or “toned” wasn’t enough. So I began doing courses in exercise prescription and holistic training, looking at how all aspects of daily life affect a person, such as sleep, stress, exercise and diet.
